The Top 10 Hand Embroidery Stitc...3

9. Feather Stitch
Another way to close the chain stitch is feather stitch, which uses a second stitch to anchor the loop of the previous one. This particular chain variation works well if you want to cover more space.
Start by bringing the needle and floss up through the fabric and make a straight stitch. Do not pull the floss in full direction; Allow the formation of a loop and bring the needle through that loop. Stitch over space next to reverse from previous stitch. Make another loop by not letting the floss go completely through the fab. Pull the needle through the loop and repeat the opposite.

10. Seed Stitch
Imagine that the contents of the seed packet drop into the air and you see the seeds randomly falling to the ground. This is great to see the seed stitch and it is a great filler stitch.
To do this, bring the needle and floss it through the fabric and make a short, straight stitch. Flip the needle back into the fabric at a different angle through the ss and continue until your filled area. Depending on how close or far you have placed your seed stitches, you can create a wide fill or layers of layers that look like dimensions.
