Embriodery stitch guide...5

Laced Running Stitch

Uses: border, decorative outline.
- Sew a line of running stitches.
- Bring the lace thread to 1 and lace it under the next running stitch.
- Continue laying the thread up and down by keeping the loops even with the moving stitches.
- To finish the lace, bring the lace thread back in the middle of the last stitch.
Tip:
- Use a blunt tip tapestry needle for the lace thread. This will help prevent you from spraying fabric or running stitch threads.

 Coral Stitch

Uses: decorative borders, plant stalks

Working from right to left, hold the working thread to the left of the starting point  (or end stitch). Insert the needle into the fabric over the working thread and pull the needle tip just below the thread. Wrap the thread around the index from left to right and pull the needle with the resulting loop.

 Cross Stitch

Uses: Borders and fills if working in adjacent rows.
To sew a line:
- Stitch from left to right, moving index 1, bottom 2, then 3 and bottom 4.
- Continue sewing at the end of the line.
- Start stitching back and forth from right to left, making the index 5 and the bottom 6 cross until all the cross stitches are sewn.

Tip:
- Be sure to position the top stitch in the same place on each project.
