Separate the embroidered hoop pieces and use the inner hoop as a template. Trace around the hoop on top of the feeling, then cut out the felt circle. Set it aside for the next step.
Whooping and embroidered trim
Keep your embroidery securely hoop. When you press the outer hoop, make sure the hoops are flush and that the inner hoop does not extend to the front. It is best not to push the outer hoop down completely. This will leave the edge of the inner hoop revealed behind.
If you use a vintage hoop that no longer holds the fabric tote, try twisting the inner hoop for more excitement.
Spray around the excess fabric, leaving the fabric at least 1/2 inch apart. It is best to leave 1 inch of fabric on. Be sure to plan for your embroidery fabric at the time of selecting your perfect size or at the beginning to cut your embroidery fabric.
Spread a needle with enough yarn to move around the circle. Thread sewing, embroidery floss, or nail cotton will all work for this. Tie a large knot at one end.
Sew around extra edges of fabric with large running stitch. The stitches should be about 1/4 inch from the edge of the fabric.
When you reach the beginning of the stitch, pull the thread to gather the edge to the center. To secure the gathering, grab one of the two stitches in the back, then tie a large knot near the fabric.
