Huck Embroidery
Hack embroidery, sometimes called hawk weaving or Swedish weaving, is an embroidery that combines some surface embroidery with knitting. Its name comes from hawk cloth, which is the most common material used for this style and its alternative name is understood to have originated in Sweden. It is often seen in table linen and towels.
The patterns of hack embroidery vary widely, from simple bands to sound or motifs to intricate all-over designs. But like counting cross-stitch, black work or other math thread embroidery, once you learn to follow a pattern or chart, the process is pretty easy.
You will find that this type of embroidery is fairly quick to work with, which makes it a good choice for small gifts for friends and family.

Fabric
As the hack embroidery weaves thread through the fabric, you will need to create a special design for it. Clothes that are suitable for knitting hawks often have a layer of warp or waffle thread that is "floating", allowing you to simply stitch the bottom of this thread. The result is that embroidery is perfectly on the surface of the fabric and never goes backwards.
Different types of fabric work for duck embroidery, but each one will work a bit differently and the results may differ. If you are working from a pattern, pay close attention to the recommended or necessary fabric. Most of these fabrics can also be finished with self-frying edges.
Hack Fabric - This fabric is the most common for hook embroidery and is very easy to use. There is only a vertical float for sliding your needle with the hawk's fabric. This ingredient usually comes as a towel, ends at a width of two sides that is perfect for making tea towels, or you may want to look for finished duck towels.
Monk's Clothes - For a heavier fabric, choose monk's clothes. This material has both horizontal and vertical floating and should always be pre- washed. The monk's cloth is often used to make duck embroidery Afghans and other large pieces.
Idea Cloth - Calculated cross-stitch and has questions for Black adder, Idea Fabric hacker worked for embroidery. Once you've done that, stitch directly.
Other fabrics such as waffle or popcorn fabrics also work, but they are hard to find.
Needles
Always use a blunt needle for hook embroidery. This ensures that you are just crossing the thread through the knitting of the cloth and not peeling the fabric. A calculated cross-stitch needle will work for it, but a tight embroidery index makes the job easier.
The duck embroidery needles have a knotted and angled edge, making it easy to scoop the needle under the floating threads. These needles are longer, so you can work on longer zones with a single pass.
Threads
Both Stranked Embroidered Floss and Pearl Cotton are great choices for hook embroidery. The examples shown in this tutorial all use 5 size Pearl cotton but different sizes and types are ok. In fact, as long as a thread is easily dragged through the characters fast and floating, it will work.
