To create this mirror work design, make stitches running around the mirror. Embroidery thread through these circles to look like flower petals.
The Threaded Running Stitch
This stitch is made by first stitching the sun. Knit loose loops underneath running stitches with the same color thread or contrasting color without peeling the fabric.
Threaded stitch, also known as laced stitch, is a group stitch that is characterized by a 'foundation' stitch that combines with the second thread.
The second thread engages with foundation stitching (as opposed to comparable interleast stitching) without entering the ground material and leaving itself behind. Foundation stitching is usually applied first on a long line, followed by a second thread.
6) Mirror with Blanket Stitch
The method –
To create this mirror work embroidery design, one must anchor the mirror with straight stitching across the mirror as before. Then the blanket is sewn around the mirror. This is a bit different because someone will bring the needle underneath the anchoring stitch and lift some fabric around the mirror with the needle. The blanket stitches should continue this way until there is a common frame of sewing the blanket around the mirror. Further layers of blanket sewing are made for a larger work pattern.
The Blanket Stitch
This stitch is simple and easy. Called the blanket stitch, traditionally it is used to sew the edges of the blanket. It not only gives the blanket edges a nice look but also protects it. This stitch is now used in many other craft projects. This is the most sought after stitches.
Blanket stitching is often confused with buttonhole stitching. In fact, it should be said that blanke stitch and buttonhole are often considered the same, even if not stitched.
Both stitches are used to secure the edges, the buttonhole stitch is a sturdier stitch to secure the edges of the buttonholes. So, theoretically, the cords will use buttonhole stitches to sew the edge of the buttonholes.
